Atwoli Details Call With Azimio Leader Raila Before State House Visit

Addressing mourners at a funeral in Khwisero, Kakamega County, on Saturday, December 3, Atwoli revealed that he explained to the ODM Party leader that he had to meet President Ruto for the sake of the workers that he led.

He stated that criti criticising Ruto's government would make him loose his job and pose great risks to Kenyan workers.

The COTU boss added that he also took time to discuss the rights and welfare of Kenyan workers.

"We held discussions on Kenya's ratification of ILO C190 and outsourcing of labour. I also sought an appointment with the Head of State to meet and share with all COTU Affiliated General Secretaries,"said Atwoli via Twitter

Atwoli is part of a delegation from the Luhya community that met Ruto at the State House Thursday.

Others who accompanied him are Prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale, former Kakamega gubernatorial candidate Cleophas Malala and Rashid Echesa, among others.

The COTU boss revealed that among the topics discussed were the benefits of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to workers.
