Senior counsel lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has claimed why former prime minister Raila Odinga and his camp entered into government through the handshake with president Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the deputy president Dr William Samoei Ruto allied lawyer, Odinga and his team have done nothing meaningful to Kenyans after entering government in 2022.

According to the SC, Odinga and team only entered into handshake to advance their personal agenda in the pretext of taking care of Kenyans interests.

"OBJECTIVELY What good did Hon Raila, Hon @JunetMohamed et al done for Kenyans in terms of governance, economic Empowerment, social advancements...etc since they joined government in 2018? Or was their joining of government a STRATEGY to advance their PERSONAL and PRIVATE goals?" Ahmednassir tweeted.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga on March 2018 entered into handshake in what they said was a move to unite the country.

Their decision to bury their political differences and come together for the sake of Kenyans birthed the Building Bridges Initiative BBI drive which was aimed at amending the 2010 constitution.

Their efforts to amend the constitution were however dealt a huge blow after the High Court and the Appellate Court termed the process illegal and unconstitutional.
