Ruto's UDA and Wetangula's Ford Kenya Engage in a Firce Battle For Bungoma Senatorial Seat

President William Ruto and Ford Kenya Party leader Musa Wentagula are set to battle it out for the Bungoma senatorial seat in the upcoming elections after Wetangula was elected Speaker of the National Assembly.

According to reports, Ruto's UDA and Ford Kenya have two candidates to battle it out in the race to replace Speaker Wetangula.

UDA has settled on Mwambu Mabonga, ahead of Ford Kenya's old assistant Wetangula Wafula Wakoli. Wetangula Bungoma and his fellow UDA MPs have been urged to support the UDA candidate, but he appears to be reluctant as he has chosen a candidate from his party.

The race has now been dubbed a two-horse race between UDA candidate Ruto and Ford Kenya candidate Wetangula. It will now be a fierce battle between Ruto and Wetangula of Kenya's Kwanza Movement.
