Jubilee candidate Anne Wanjiku Kibe has roasted Gatundu North constituents who refused to vote for her during the just-concluded general election.

Kibe lost her seat to a newcomer Elijah Njoroge Kururia, the MCA for Biashara Ward and Kiambu County Assembly Majority Leader.

The incumbent legislator, who is a fierce defender of President Uhuru Kenyatta, polled 12,282 votes against Kururia's 15,224 votes.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Kibe accused Gatundu North residents of not appreciating her development record by voting for her rival who offered them maize flour and money.

"We tried our best to transform our Constituency through solid tangible developments but some of our people choose 1kg of Unga and Ksh 200 over transformation. Tukiuge atia?(But what do we say?)," she posted.

Kibe, a former presenter and head of radio at Kameme FM, dismissed the election as a scam claiming laws guarding electoral process were disregarded on Tuesday.

"We've continued to highlight some very solid bribery, electrol malpractices, lack of transparency and unfairness in the manner in which the election was conducted but our complains fell on dead ears," she said.

Kibe, who has been campaigning for Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua, thanked her supporters saying she was not done with politics and was looking forward to working with them in the future.

"A big thankyou to the over 12000 voters who believed in our transformation agenda and who loudly made their voice heard at the ballot by electing me. You are truly my heroes and history will surely judge you kindly. May God bless you and I promise to continue serving you where I can in a different capacity," the Jubilee politician added.
