Women representative of Murang'a county Sabina Chege has consistently advocated for the welfare of the Mount Kenya region both now and in the future. According to her, the people of Mount Kenya betrayed Uhuru Kenyatta for not casting their votes to Odinga. She also claimed that the president was betrayed by people who wanted to divide the Mountain region.
"but he was betrayed by people who were out to create divisions not only in the region, but across the country." Sabina Chege pointed out.
She also claimed that without any demands as to how the region would be compensated or any assurances as to the region's welfare, the region effectively pawned itself to Dr. Ruto. Furthermore, there was no assurance that the President's legacy projects would still be carried out.
Kanini Kega, the departing member of parliament for Kieni, also asserted Mount Kenya has been exposed to slavery of which may not realize earlier until they comes to their Senses.
"By defying President Kenyatta, the Mt. Kenya region has just signed itself into political slavery and this could go on until it comes to its senses." Kega claimed.
