Mt kenya Jubilee Mps call for change of party leadership

A section of Jubilee MPs is now demanding a total change of the ruling party's leadership.

Speaking after a brainstorming meeting which was held today, the group which includes MPs and MCAs from Mt Kenya, said they have embarked on a clean up of the Jubilee House, a process that will culminate in far-reaching changes at the party's top leadership.

The leaders included Jude Njomo (Kiambu Town), Kanini Kega (Kieni), Sabina Chege (Murang'a Woman Rep), Ruth Mwaniki (Kangema), Mary wa Wamaua (Maragwa) and Gichuki Mugambi (Othaya) and Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Simon King'ara (Ruiru) and Kabinga Wavayo (Mwea).

The lawmakers said they will start the purge at the grassroots where they will replace ineffective leaders before escalating it to the national office.

Kanini said they will do everything to ensure that they get rid of leaders responsible for the poor performance of the party.

"There are nine ways off a skinning a cat, you can start from the bottom or the top but this time around the cat will be finally skinned," Njomo said.

The Kiambu Town MP said the clean up will start from the grassroots to weed out those who have betrayed the cause.

The said that the exercise will be ended by August 30.
