Kimilili member of parliament Didmus Barasa now says he doesent support importation of GMO maize.
Theough his official Facebook page he wrote "I,Didmus Wekesa Barasa Mutua, the son of a widow,dont support impotation of GMO related foodstuffs. Will only do when and or UNTILL such a time when we would have equiped our hosipitals with proper disease diagnostic equipments,"
President William Ruto recently lifted the nan on the importation of GMO.
Barasa who was elected on a UDA party is a staunch supporter of president William Ruto's adminstration.
He is a big critique of the opposition leader Raila Odinga and retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.
His post recieved mixed reactions here are some of their comments.
Norman Mukhwana says "All sober leaders with sober minds should oppose any move to import GMOs maize and food stuffs. We have more than enough to feed ourselves if only government empowers local farmers,"
Kim Kibiwott says "Thank you mheshimiwa, I second you. Hao watu wasijaribu. Hata kama ni pilipili ya GMO wasijaribu,"
Pamba B chris says "Ruto must know that he is president for 5yrs and may be maximum of 10 yrs if he get re elected, but Kenya and kenyans will live for ever, he must respect every opinion on GMO, we are not his cow, let look other ways to lower food Price,"
Kimutai says "I support you sir,let them come to Transnzoia and uasin ngishu counties.we have alot of maize in our stores,"
John Kituyi says "GMO is dangerous Mheshimiwa .Those people encouraging the importation .Their families can't feed on them.Why should someone gamble with the lives of common Kenyans,"
