In any presidential election, the choice of a deputy president will always determine whether one is likely to win or lose.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amolo Odinga is one of the hopeful presidential candidates in the coming presidential elections.
For Raila to win the presidency, he must be very careful on who he will pick as his deputy. Governor Ann Waiguru being one of the active governor politicians from the vote rich central Kenya is likely to deputise him.
The govenor has always been standing tall ahead of his fellows from the region in terms of giving support to the proposed Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020 which is being driven by Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta.
For ODM leader Raila Odinga to have a lot of support from Central Kenya, he must pick his deputy from the region. His choice could be based on who has always been loyal to him and one who has always ensuring that BBI gains a lot of support in the region.
Governor Ann Waiguru has severally defended the ODM leader, and at times, she had been accused hiding behind him to escape the corruption charges against him.Since the March 2018 handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, govenor Ann Waiguru has been Raila's one of the closest politicians from the central Kenya and has been spotted several times at Odinga's office for development consultations.
Waiguru has also invited the ODM leader Raila Odinga in several ceremonies which even include her traditional marriage ceremony. This perhaps shows how the two have formed a very strong political bond between them.
If Raila's deputy has to come from Central part of Kenya, then he is likely to pick Waiguru because of the ever growing goog political relationship between them.
