The 2022 general elections will be a showdown between Raila and Ruto. The two command a huge political following in the country. Recent statistics have revealed that Raila is closing the gap between him and DP Ruto. Ruto's political support has been declining over the recent days. Raila on the other side he has received a major boost in Mount Kenya.
Close political allies to William Ruto remain staunch that they will walk to statehouse in August next year. This may not be the case if they continue relaxing. The most populous region is currently inclining towards Raila's presidency. The influence of president Uhuru Kenyatta and the seven governors has caused this shift of allegiance.
Ruto may have to retract and replan his campaign. This is because his latest approach may hurt his political support base. His close liutenetants will have to be careful on what to say especially to the people of Mount Kenya region
