ODM party leader Raila Odinga is expected to address his supporters in an upcoming rally in Githurai, but on Friday afternoon during the preparations of the place, the unexpected happened to the ODM team.

The act forced Raila's close ally who is ODM Chief of Communications, Philip Etale, to react on social media with a post. According to Etale, unknown people whom he claims to be hired goons destroyed the dais where Raila is supposed to address the supporters.
"In Githurai, hired goons dismantled the dais. It's being set up again. Baba will address the rally. Yes He will," said his post.
This is unexpected for the ODM team since they've been holding rallies in Nairobi and its environs but have never been intimidated or attacked by goons since Raila has massive support from the place.
Raila Odinga has been calling for demonstration to force Ruto's government to deliver its promises to Kenyans and lower the cost of living. Recently, he announced that March 20, 2023 would be a public holiday to allow mass demonstration.
