President Uhuru Kenyatta Condoles with Tuju's Family After the Loss of His Mother

Following the loss of their mother Mama Mary Odiyo Tuju, President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his condolences to the family of Jubilee Secretary-General and Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.

Mama Mary, 87, died on Wednesday night in a Nairobi hospital while having treatment.

Mama Mary was a hardworking community leader and elder who passionately appreciated and supported education as the foundation of life, according to the President's letter of consolation to the family.

"Mama Mary was a well-known and well-respected community leader who believed in education's virtues and benefits. Her belief that education is the foundation of life inspired many people in her neighborhood to pursue education and become active members of society, according to the President.

Mama Mary was a strong matriarch who raised a successful family, according to the Head of State, who prayed to God for solace and fortitude for the Tuju family during this terrible time of bereavement.

"We will be eternally grateful for her service to our country and for raising a strong family that has continued to contribute to our country's socioeconomic progress."

"As you mourn the loss of your loving mother, I pray that God will pour forth his love and peace into your hearts." As you come to terms with the death of your family matriarch, I assure you of my prayers and support," President Kenyatta comforted the family.
