Several leaders are eyeing the top seat in the country and all of them are men. Raila Odinga, DP William Ruto, and Musalia Mudavadi are among the top leaders who are urging Kenyans to support them. As the top leaders search for their running mates are encouraged to pick women. However, our history suppresses most of the women. Kenyans perceived women to be housewives without allowing them to build our Nation. This has awakened Doctor Akombe to react.
Akombe said "The failure to acknowledge the role of women in nation-building is not just a discourse of history. It is playing in our own eyes today."
Our Nation led by President Uhuru Kenyatta should come up with ways in which to enlightened all women to run for the top seat. They should get more encouragement from President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania. Equally, our Constitution should give more mandate to women because their nation-builders. Let this be an awake up call to all women and they should know that, they can.
