Dennis Kapchok popularly known as Mulmulwas has been released after he was arrested on Friday.
Mulmulwas was arrested on Friday at his home in Kapenguria and taken to Capital Hill Police Station.
It's is alleged that he was arrested over a social media post where he defamed the West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghosio.
"I congratulate the Police beginning with IG Mutyambai and DCI Kinoti for standing strongly against intimidation and abuse of office, by Leader of Majority, Sen. Poghisio and released our son, in accordance with the law," said the Pokot South MP while speaking to the press.
He called on the Pokot Senator to stop intimidating his opponents but instead use his position to benefit West Pokot people.
"Allow me to give free and peaceful advice to the senator, please use your new post of Majority position to benefit our people not to frustrate and intimidate them.Our good people are asking where are the choppers used by former leader of majority, people suffered in Muino, we never saw you," he added.
Dennis Kapchok thanked the Pokot South MP for ensuring his release.
"I want to thank the Pokot South MP for facilitating my release and to the West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghosio please don't use your position to intimidate your opponents," he said.
The West Pokot senator is currently is the leader of majority in the Senate which he took over from Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
