The President of Kenya, William Ruto yesterday launched the much anticipated Hustler fund at the Green Park Terminal in Nairobi City. The event was attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Trade CS Moses Kuria and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen among others.
Of course many of the individuals were expecting that the fund would be a substantial amount which would help them start businesses. Majority of Kenyans have complained tht they amount awarded to them as little with most of them accessing only Ksh. 500.
Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Hon. Babu Owino has reacted to the little amount majority of Kenyans received as he claims that the Ksh. 500 can only purchase a contraceptive and boiled egg which is a common street food in Kenya.
"What business can 500 shillings start apart from buying a condom and mayai boiro?Hustler fund is a fraud meant to expropriate and pilfer money from Kenyans in form of interest." Hon. Babu Owino's tweet on Hustler Fund.
Hon. Babu Owino has further claimed that Hustler Fund is a fraud meant to exploit Kenyans as it fetches interests. During his Presidential Campaigns, William Ruto assured Kenyans that Hustler fund would not fetch any interest since it's sole purpose is to help "Hustlers".
