Kenyans React After JLAC Move On Cherera And Her Team, Declines Them More Time For Defence

The petitions to remove the four dissenting IEBC commissioners have triggered a major storm between government and opposition team. An online exchange of words has been witnessed between the President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga amidst hearing to determine fate of commissioners. The National Assembly's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee has already done its scrutiny to determine the four IEBC commissioners. Vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang’aya have been accused to subvert the will of Kenyans.

However, in the recent reports it is said that JLAC committee has declined to grant IEBC vice-chair Juliana Cherera 10 days to prepare defence against petition to oust her, allows her until tomorrow to do so. This seems to be sad news to the commissioners and it appears that Ruto allies are firm in kicking out the embattled commissioners. The Azimio camp has insisted that they need to be left to retain their offices.
