William Ruto is the current serving Deputy President of Kenya under the leadership of H.E the President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenyatta is in his last term according to Kenyan law and is heading to retirement come 2022.
The succession politics is on and the deputy President William Ruto has announced his intention of succeeding his boss. William Ruto is likely to vie under the umbrella of the United Democratic Party after his fallout with Jubilee party management.
William has a wide variety of people he can choose to deputize him from different regions. One person who is likely to be considered as a deputy is the current Senator of Muranga Hon Irungu Kang'ata. Kang'ata is a great friend to William and their relationship strengthen when Kang'ata letter to the President about BBI leaked to the public domain.
Ruto is against BBI and Kang'ata view about BBI then was seen as something that would against the president and his BBI proponents. This lead to his ouster in his position as the Majority Chief Whip in the Parliament.
Currently, Kang'ata is one of the strongest supporters of the Dp and due to their strong relationship and the fact that he is coming from the community that Ruto targets most“The GEMA" to sail through to the presidency, he might have no option but to pick this Muranga Man.
At some time, Kang'ata was heard comparing Ruto to David ( David in the Bible), something that would show how much Kang'ata believes in Ruto's ideologies.
