Speaking during a burial ceremony in Kapiyo village in Siaya county on Saturday 24th, April, alongside Raila's elder brother Oburu Odinga, senator James Orengo advised Siaya county residents to vote for Oburu as their senator in the coming general elections.
Orengo noted that Oburu Odinga has really sacrificed a lot for the county and it was time he be rewarded.
Senator Orengo went ahead to note that the things that East African Legislative Assembly(EALA) member has done very many were still not aware of.
On his side, the senator revealed that he is actually in the race to succeed govenor Cornel Rasanga who is serving his second and last term.
He also advised the residents of the region to ensure they vote only Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidates as one of the ways to strengthen and to ensure Raila Odinga has a strong base even as he battles for presidency in the 2022 general elections.On the other hand, Oburu Odinga also pleaded with the region to ensure they support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) as it is one of the ways that would ensure Raila becomes the head of state of Kenya in 2022.
He also revealed that the BBI referendum will likely to be conducted by July this months just a year to the next general elections.
