Kagwe who has been mentioned as one of those who could deputise leading presidential hopefuls, he was linked to Interior and coordination of national government cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matian'gi.
However, according to Kagwe, his focus for now is to serve in the capacity that president Uhuru Kenyatta assigned him, he declared that he is committed to handle the health sector which has been affected widely and cannot divert his attention to politics.
"I know that there has been this debate and I know that there has been speculation in all sorts of political spheres and political discussions but the only thing I can tell you is this. First and foremost, I must focus," CS Mutahi stated.
Kagwe stated that the rumours doing rounds that he is eying the running mate position is not important as per now since the country faces a lot of challenges.
"I cannot deviate my mind to other things then ignore the health issues that are significant and a threat to our country. Right now, I think that my mind cannot waiver. I need to be focused on when we can open the economy and for people to go back to their normal lives. That is what I want to focus on right now," He stated while appearing
