It is a move that elicited mixed reactions, with Mwau's boss Kivutha Kibwana coming out to comment on his Deputy's Move.
According to Kibwana, Adelina tried her best to drag along a huge section of their political friends with her to UDA but reportedly declined the move.
He went ahead to claim that the DG was on her own and that the people of Makueni had decided to support Azimio la Umoja and will never be convinced by Adeline to support Ruto's UDA party.
He termed her move as a selfish one meant to benefit her politically and not the people. He added that Adeline's decision to join UDA had brought their good working relationship to an edge and that she will walk alone going into the future.
However, Kivutha's remarks seemed to have angered a larger section of online users, who thronged his page to deconstruct him.
While a few supported him, a larger section criticized him, saying the Deputy Governor has her democratic rights to support whoever candidate she chooses and should not be dictated by Kivutha.
"It is her political right to join any party. You joined Azimio and she didn't complain" said one user.
"Please confirm your account has not been hacked. This mediocre statement can't be from a respected leader like you. You deserve to address other pressing matters of national importance. Didn't know you decide for the people of Makueni on whom they should vote for.... What a mess!" added another user.
