Rigathi Gachagua to BBI intiators
Mathira Mp, Rigathi Gachagua has warned that BBI is no longer active. He also criticised it saying, it's intentions was only to create 5 top seats and constituencies. He argued that the rest were only sweeteners. The BBI bill is currently in the court of appeal after The high Court termed it unconstitutional.Judgement on this appeal is expected on 20th August 2021.
Speaking with Waihiga Mwaura, he also warned the President against extending his term.
"We gave President Uhuru Kenyatta two terms, constitutionally he cannot go on even an extra day, and it will be unconstitutional and unfair on his part if it's true he is pushing to go that way"
Rigathi is a critic of the government and a close ally to Deputy President William Samoei Ruto. He is a member of Jubilee, the ruling party. However he has openly supported UDA.
