The Supreme court chief justice Martha Koome today led the swearing in ceremony of the new Inspector General of National Police Eng Japheth Koome. According to the news which was shared on the social media platforms, the swearing in ceremony was held at Supreme court premises where several military officers also attended.
Japheth Koome was appointed by the president William Ruto after being approved by the members of parliament. Japheth Koome has now taken over from the acting inspector general Hon Noor Gabor who was serving as the inspector general after the resignation of Mutyambai. According to the reports which was shared on the social media platforms, the former inspector general Hon Hillary Mutyambai resigned due to health issues. Mutyambai was hospitalized for several weeks before resigning. 
Despite that, Japheth Koome will now be serving for five years. Remember to maintain peace among each other during this time where leaders are starting their jobs.
