The general elections are projecting a change in pattern in top county leardership. Unlike other general elections in the history of the country, women are taking top positions and are today leading in gubernatorial races in different counties in the country. Top and notable names in the previous elections have been floored by women who continue to explore the available opportunities, in a bid meant to achieve the 2/3 gender rule.
In Meru county, Kawira Mwangaza was voted in massively flooring names like Kiraitu and Linturi. In Machakos county Wavinya Ndeti outshined men to take the lead in the county. In Kirinyaga county governor Ann Waiguru was announced the winner of the race which was heavily contested between her and Ngirici.
This is historical and Kenya is currently shifting from the traditional norms to a new era where women learderahip is embraced. The gubernatorial votes continue to be counted and announced on timely basis.
