Following Queen Elizabeth's passing, President Uhuru proclaimed four days of mourning.
From now, on Friday, September 9, until dusk on Monday, September 12, Kenya will observe a time of national mourning, according to the president of state.
"From this morning until sunset on Monday, September 12, the flag of the Republic of Kenya shall be flown at half-mast at State House, all Kenyan diplomatic missions, public buildings and grounds, all military bases, posts, and stations, on all Kenyan naval vessels, and wherever else in the Republic of Kenya.
All High Commissions, Embassies, Consulates, Diplomatic Offices, and other facilities of the Republic of Kenya overseas should fly our national flag at half-mast for the same period of time, he said.
Today the Outgoing president Kenyatta was accorded a farewell ceremony by Kenya defence forces. The head of state was lauded for his good legacy he has left behind, having served as the President of Kenya for 10 years.
