UDA MP From Mt Kenya Reveals What Residents Have Began Saying About Ruto Ahead of Polls

As Kieni MP Kanini Kega informed The Daily Nation on Saturday, there have been hints that he may do exactly that beginning in June.

Allies of Deputy President William Ruto of Mount Kenya have cautioned him against doing so, urging him to spare himself the embarrassment that will inevitably ensue.

They begged the President on Sunday not to be seen campaigning on Mt. Kenya, reminding him that the region has already voted for Ruto and that he could not change their minds.

According to Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, locals claim that Ruto is now one of them and have no intention of allowing anyone to damage the bond.

Speaking when following Ruto to Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, he disclosed that they have given him the moniker Kamau to demonstrate their love for him.

Ruto requested that the people of Uasin Gishu elect all their leaders from the UDA party, claiming that this is the only way he could be a powerful president if elected.

He pledged not to disappoint his fans once in office and urged them not to be deceived.

The Star quotes him as saying, "I want to assure you that I will not let you down, and as for my people at home, no one should come here to plan for you.

He reiterated that he has grand aspirations for the country, which he intends to pursue upon becoming the next Head of State.

"Our first priority will be the economy and creating jobs for our kids," said the DP, whose candidacy in August will be his first chance at the presidency.

Kimani Ngunjiri, a representative from Bahati, stated that Ruto stands out and will be chosen because he has the ability to unite the nation.
