Ruto Alleges The Plan Raila Has In Place Should He Lose August Polls

The United Democratic Alliance party leader and Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate Deputy President William Ruto, has claimed that the threats made by Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition flagbearer Raila Odinga are meant to lay ground to reject the results.

Ruto retaliated by saying that Kenyans are used to the threats of boycotting elections by the ODM leader. Yesterday, July 6, Mr Raila Odinga had issued a great warning to the Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission, saying that there would be no election if IEBC fails to use a manual voter register as a complementary mechanism of voter identification in each polling stations across the country.

Speaking in Kiambu County during Azimio la Umoja campaign rally, Mr Odinga alleged that the Wafula Chebukati and his IEBC commission is hiding behind the use of the biometric or Electronic register to interfere with the credibility of the August General election results.

"We are saying that a manual register is a must at each and every polling station across the country and is not negotiable. We are telling Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission that they must have a manual register together with the Electronic identification of the voters on that polling day, without that, there will be no election." Mr Odinga said.

Responding to Mr Odinga's remarks, statement through his Twitter handle on Wednesday, 6 July, the self proclaimed hustler said that Raila has panicked, and he is laying ground to reject August results. He further added that threat by Raila is nothing new as Kenyans are used to his drama.

“They are in a panic mode. That is their true colours. They are now threatening everyone so that they reject election results." Ruto said
