President Ruto and former president Uhuru Kenyatta were today seen together since the inauguration ceremony of the current president that happened on September 13. They met on Monday during the launch of the inter- Congolese consultations. in the ceremony, they were both officiators.
The event was attended by high officials and dignitaries from all around Africa. Some of the key individuals who attended the ceremony include; the president of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, key diplomats as well as African Union observers.
the event was carried out with the main aim of ending wars that have been ongoing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
speaking at the ceremony, Uhuru, who was the facilitator stressed the need for peace in DRC's Eastern region.
Burundi's president also addressed the delegates virtually together with Uganda's president and Tanzania's president. EAC states that it will hold talks with the Congolese governments and the armed groups with an aim to look for a long-lasting solution to the wars in the country.
