"Raila is Unsellable, Unpopular in Mt Kenya, " Uhuru's Allied Governor Claims, Reveals Why

Mt Kenya leaders will not be forced to back Opposition leader Raila Odinga, according to Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, who is also a close ally of President Kenyatta.

He claimed that because Mr Odinga's development strategy was not clear, it was impossible to "sell" him in the region.

Mr Kahiga claimed campaigning for the ODM leader for president was a waste of time and resources while speaking in Nyeri County, on Sunday during a tour of the area by Deputy President William Ruto.

"Mr Odinga has not provided us with a compelling cause to back him.We can't gather around a leader who only has rhetoric and lectures to offer," Mr Kahiga added.

Others who accompanied DP Ruto were Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi, Mathira's Rigathi Gachagua, Kiharu's Ndindi Nyoro, Kandara's Alice Wahome, Kikuyu's Kimani Ichungwa, Nyeri's Rahab Mukami, Naivasha's Jane Kihara, Malindi's Aisha Jumwa, Nakuru's Susan Kihika, Garissa's Aden Duale and former governor Ferdinand Waititu.
