Ruto Issues a Warning, Identifies The Powerful People he Plans to 'Deal With' Soon

Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to teach some powerful people trying to stand between him and the presidency in next year's polls a lesson.

The DP has declared interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta, but has been accusing some powerful people of trying to block his efforts.

The group, he alleged on Sunday, is fearful that his 'Bottom Up' strategy will empower Kenyans, denying them the opportunity to continue exploiting them.

He vowed to teach them a lesson by leading Kenyans in defeating them at the ballot, warning that their time is over and it's time for the ordinary Kenyan to benefit.

"These rich people despise the bottom up because they want Kenyans to remain at the bottom but let them know that their plan will not work, it will end soon," he said on a campaign tour of Mombasa.

The DP seems to have been refering to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Mt Kenya Foundation camp which seems to be working hard to ensure that the seat goes to his opponent; ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He accused the group of hubris and arrogance, in an apparent reference to the narrative that with Uhuru and MKF's support Raila is guaranteed of a win.

He added that the group is looking down on the ordinary people, hence its attempts to stop hustlers from leading, vowing to deal with them politically.

"The tribalism, hubris and arrogance that you possess won't get you anywhere, we will deal with you in the coming elections," he added.

He has been of the idea that he has the best plan for the ordinary Kenyan and should be supported by Raila and Uhuru as payment for his endorsement of their past presidential candidatures.
