Kenyan Journalists Decry Poor Treatment While Covering Jill Biden's Visit

Senior Kenyan journalists who accompanied the visiting first lady of the United States on Saturday during her various tours across the country are allegedly complaining of the shabby treatment they have received from her delegation. The US first lady was doing tours in various places accompanied by Kenya's first lady Rachel Ruto.

The Sunday Nation reports that the accredited Kenyan journalists who were to be part of the first lady's entourage and were scheduled to cover Jill Biden's visit had a hard time covering the various visits she had. An anonymous source from a top media house revealed that they had a hard time covering the various events she attended as they were allowed nowhere near her despite getting high-level clearance to cover her visit. This made it almost impossible for them to cover the ongoing events of her visit.

As the Kenyan journalists were having hard times covering the events, their foreign counterparts seemed to be enjoying preferential treatment. They were granted interviews and carried their media equipment from one event to the next without any hindrance.
