President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga are the main proponents of the BBI. After they came together through the handshake to save this country from collapsing due to post election violence, they decided to come up with something written that will help in the coming days. For that reason, they came up with the BBI.
Although they have been facing plenty of challenges in their way, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have been matching on. They passed several stages and as we are speaking, they are very close to the final stage which is the referendum. While that serves as a boost in their camps, things seem to be still bad for them.
That is because a top senator by the name Mithika Linturi decided that it was time to remove all the gloves and say what he feels is the truth. While speaking to Citizen TV, the Meru senator may just have send President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga into shivers after he claimed that the common 'mwananchi' don't know about the contents in the BBI. He claimed that BBI is not that popular Initiative as it is sold out to be.
"BBI is not a popular initiative as sold out to be. The common mwananchi does not know the content in BBI." Said Mithika Linturi.
Basing the fact that Mithika Linturi is a leader representing a whole county, his remarks can not be taken lightly. If that is true, then the BBI can end up losing terribly at the referendum. That's a new headache to the BBI proponents as they will have to work really hard to make sure that the general public access the BBI documents, especially when printed in vernacular languages so that they can read and understand.
