In the past days proposed ammendment by Kandara MP Alice Wahome on the procedure of forming coalitions has been struck out in what is seen as a major win for Opposition chief Raila Odinga who is popularizing his Azimio La Umoja initiative.
The amendment was thrown out during voting on the Political Parties Amendment Bill of 2021 in which 158 MPs voted against it while 134 supported it.
This is not new as previously MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto were de-whipped from various committees in the National Assembly including parliament's majority leader post among others.
The removal of MPs affiliated to the UDA party which is associated to Deputy President William Ruto has sparked mixed reactions among kenyans on social media.
