Former Rift Valley Regional Commisioner George Natembeya speaking during an interview with Radio Citizen today morning, said he was fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Handshake, saying that he would swing to the side the Head of State would support.
"Mimi nimefanya kazi na rais, siwezi fika sasa sababu ya siasa nianze kulose principles nianze kurukaruka, apana, itakuwa the worst form of betrayal Rais wangu aniambie enda pande hii, na mimi niende pande hii, Rais anaunga mkono kabisa hatua ambayo nimechukua, including my former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, na pia PS, Hii ni maneno ambayo ilikuwa na mjadala na tukakubaliana, lakini sahii focus ni kwanza ni kwa wanannchi wa Trans Nzoia," he said.
Natembeya who claims to have honed his Public Service skills under the tutelage of the late John Michuki, says that as governor, he will ensure that all contracts awarded by the Trans Nzoia county are given to residents of the county only. Top of his list is upgrading Kitale Town- the county's headquarters- which he says needs a desperate face-lift especially the Central Business District with its potholes in order to enhance service delivery. He also plans to complete and equip the Ksh.1.6 Billion Trans Nzoia County Refferal Hospital, as well as finish the construction of the County Stadium whose construction began 9 years ago.
