Pro-UDA Supporters Slam K24 TV After Playing Video of DP Ruto Offering 'Empty' Promises in 2017

K24 TV aired a video of a campaign promise made by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate and Deputy President William Ruto prior to the 2017 general elections.

In the video, DP Ruto stated that they were going to make the internet free for all Kenyans, as opposed to spending money on telecommunications services.

However, this was not the case, and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader reiterated the same remarks this year while promoting his presidential candidacy ahead of the national elections in August 2022.

After the iconic handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, pro-UDA fans criticized the media outlet, claiming that DP Ruto couldn't fulfill it.

Others pointed out that the Big 4 Agenda was still in effect and that K24 did not need to rehash the past. In contrast, pro-Azimio supporters swamped the reply box with smiling emojis and other taunts directed at their political opponents.
