The presidential campaign for 2022 is already in full swing, with politicians from all over Kenya canvassing the streets for votes to succeed President Kenyatta, who is slated to step down in August after two terms in office.
This is because they have gained widespread support for their political parties in Kenya, making them more popular than other presidential contenders.
If elections were held today, either Odinga's Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance or Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance would have been elected to succeed President Kenyatta, whose term expires in August.
When Kirinyaga County Senator Charles Kibiru and several Jubilee officials took a courageous step, it was a big boost for the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance. Senator Kibiru and his supporters have stated that they will campaign for Odinga's presidential campaign, asserting that, contrary to popular assumption, they are not frightened to campaign for Odinga in their own backyard of Mt Kenya.
This erupted after some leaders alleged that Mount Kenya Azimio followers had failed to include Odinga's picture on their campaign posters.
