The following are reasons why the President is losing the Mt. Kenya support.
Recent by elections
The by elections that were in Juja,Bonchari and Rurii brought a different perspective on whether Uhuru has the support from Mt.Kenya. This comes after the Jubilee candidates lost . In Juja constituency the People's Empowerment party won . This party is less by hon.Moses Kuria who left Jubilee and joined Tangatanga group.
Also in UDA candidate won the Rurii ward which is found in Nyandarua County, Mt.Kenya region. This party is associated to deputy President William Ruto. Ruto has been campaigning for UDA candidates in various by elections.
The President was seen losing when the five bench judges nullified the BBI process. After the nullification of BBI , some residents from Mt.Kenya were seen celebrating . This was a clear message that the residents were not comfortable for the amendment of the Constitution.
In conclusion, President Uhuru Kenyatta need to relook his tactics in order to continue enjoying the support from Central part of Kenya. Failure to which, in future it will become difficult to get the support.
