Orange democratic movement party leader and Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party presidential aspirant Raila Amollo Odinga is facing a battle to name a running mate that will be acceptable by all players.
Yesterday, the Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition council met at Kenyatta international conference where they decided to form an advisory committee that is set to propose two names of suitable running mates for Raila Odinga.
And now, the Star reports that renown business tycoon from Mt Kenya SK Macharia has made a decision on who he wants to become Raila Odinga's running mate. The publication reports that Macharia has settled on NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, believing that she is best qualified for the country's second in command position.
On the other hand, deputy president William Ruto's camp is reported to have got in touch with the independent electoral and boundaries commission over the issue of running mate. Ruto's team reportedly petitioned the IEBC on the contentious deadline for presidential candidates to name their running mates by Thursday next week.
