The current COTU Chairman Francis Atwoli has now ignited jitters in Azimio Coalition following his recent admissions and remarks. Speaking on Saturday, the fierce Raila Odinga ally named Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia Mudavadi as the new Western region kingpin.

This marks a major political twist following the fact over the past months especially before elections, Atwoli had firmly stated that Mudavadi is a big let-down to the Luhya community and cannot be crowned as the Chief defacto of Western region.
Previously, Atwoli had affirmed that former Kakamega governor Hon Wycliffe Oparanya would be crowned the Luhya Kingpin considering Mudavadi and Wetangula's joint move to ditch Raila's camp to President Ruto's Kenya Kwanza. With today's remarks, Atwoli seems to be slowly collaborating with the ruling coalition.

His strong declaration comes about two days since he and a section of other Western leaders met President Ruto for consultative discussions at State House. Kindly share your thoughts with us over the same.
