"We Won't Accept Disrespect Towards Kalonzo" Mutula Tells Azimio From Dubai, Dismisses Chief CS Slot

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has affirmed that the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is keen to go to the ballot as a presidential candidate if his demands are not met by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Camp.

Speaking on Wednesday with TV 47 from Dubai, Mutula argued that the Wiper Party fraternity will not accept their party leader to be treated with disrespect, saying that Kalonzo was given the mandate to contest for the presidency by Wiper members during their NDC, and that call still remains.

"Kalonzo must be respected because he has his own supporters, and who have expectations that Kalonzo is given the respect he deserves. As Wiper leaders, we will not accept any disrespect towards Kalonzo just because he is humble," said Mutula.

The aspiring Makueni County Governor went on to note that the position that Raila Odinga announced as what he had assigned to Kalonzo in case Azimio wins in August, the Chief Cabinet Minister, is unconstitutional and has no job security.

"There is nothing different between the Chief CS position with the other CSs slots, in both the holder can be fired at any time, and we are wondering why they would give Kalonzo a position that is similar to a school prefect."

"If that is what they wanted, they would have told him when they were pending their signatures at State House and he would have refused," said Mutula.

His remarks however comes at a time when different sources have hinted that Kalonzo might be back to Azimio within the next 12 days if the ongoing talks materialize.
