Kisii Governor Simba Arati announced from his backyard that he will resign due to his relationship with President William Ruto.
Arathi stated in a media interview on Saturday, December 31, that he will not be questioned by MPs and that he expects them to obey his mandate.
He stated that the provincial assembly and senate are the only bodies that can appoint governors.

For the first time, the governor stated that his new position necessitates collaboration with the national government and that he will not compromise himself to appease some people.

Arati stated that he will deliver to the people of Kisii, who assured him of the county's leadership, even if it means working with Ruto.
The former MP stated that Anyang' Nyong'o of Kisumu and James Orengo of Siaya are the Nyanza leaders who will collaborate with the state.
