Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss Shollei has now claimed that she would be happy if Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga picks NARC-Kenya chief Martha Karua as his runningmate in August 2022 Presidential elections.
Speaking while appearing on Citizen TV Jeff Koinange Live show on Wednesday night, Shollei opined that the Azimio La Umoja should consider settling on a woman to fly the deputy president flag during the forthcoming polls.
"I am pleased if Raila was to pick Karua as his runningmate," said Shollei.
This comes after Karua decided to quit One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and decamped to the former prime minister-led movement. She made the move on Wednesday during an event in Nairobi where Raila and other ODM politicians were present.
According to Karua, she had done enough research on the best political faction between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio La Umoja, and she found out that her heart was in the latter.
However, the former Gichugu constituency Member of Parliament opined that both coalitions had thieves and crooks. She quipped that her intentions were to look for a team which had more good people and Azimio La Umoja met her preferences.
She declared support for Raila's 2022 presidential bid. She argued that she would be in the group and would ensure that the ODM boss emerges victorious. Her party NARC-Kenya will officially sign a pact to join the movement soon.
This comes days after Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka joined the movement together with his OKA counterpart and Baringo senator Gideon Moi.
The coalition is yet to announce its runningmate as Kalonzo, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth among others fight for the same.
