Sources within Deputy President William Ruto's camp have reveled that the DP will now be using small focus groups and influential leaders from the regions perceived to be strongholds of his presidential rivals.
The sources who spoke with the Star also noted that the camp will also use leaders speaking the same language as the residents in bid to sell his agenda ahead of the August 9 elections.
This new strategy comes as he launches a charm offensive to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyka's Machakos backyard, where he will on Thursday start his tour at Donyo Sabuk, Tala, Kangundo, Kivaani, Kathiiani, Mitaboni and Joska.
His trip to Machakos comes few days after Kalonzo held a meeting with Ukambani leaders, most of who endorsed his presidential bid under the One Kenya Alliance, arguing that he is the best person to fight poverty and corruption in the country.
Ruto's visit also comes at a time when Governor Alfred Mutua, his counterparts from Makueni Kivutha Kibwana and Kitui's Charity Ngilu have assured ODM leader Raila Odinga of their support, stating that he has proved he is ready to protect and safeguard devolution.
