Over the last few months, Political tensions in the country have continued To soar Ahead Of the 2022 elections with major divisions being witnessed daily among the political class.

With less than two years remaining before the 2022 general elections, The debate on who will replace President Kenyatta when his term Finally comes to an end in 2022 has been taking over the headlines with several candidates already expressing interest in taking over from President Kenyatta.

The likes of Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have been viewed as the leading horses in the race to replace Uhuru. This has resulted in major divisions between those supporting the Deputy President and their counterparts on the other side.

The political rivalry has often resulted in the politicized corruption war targeting individuals who do not agree with the government's narrative.

Earlier today, reports emerged that Ruto's Close friend Hon. Rigathi Gachagua was arrested by the DCI Kenya officers. According to Denis Itumbi, the officers are saying they must keep him in over the weekend.

According to Itumbi, the arrest is in relation to the just-concluded Kiambaa by-election and also to cover up the mess the government made with the arrest of the two Judges.

This will no doubt create further divisions between the Kieleweke and Tangatanga factions on the use of state forces to intimidate rivalries.
