Leader Threatens To Ditch Ruto's UDA Party If Plans Fail

The deputy president William Ruto has been making efforts to unite all his allies through a common front which is the United Democratic Alliance party. He asked leaders supporting his presidential bid to to join UDA and make it strong and from that gun for political positions in the 2022 race.

Earlier last week, there were allegations that Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen had plans to detect from UDA. This came just a few days after Mt. Kenya leaders allied to the deputy president declined his proposal to join UDA. Kirinyaga Women Representative Ngirici has also stated that she is ready to leave UDA if things go haywire. She added that she is not tethered to the party like a goat.

These statements by Ruto's allies to decamp from UDA pose a major threat to Ruto's presidential bid as he hoped to make the party a national party by engaging with popular leaders across the country.
