Kibra Residents Light Up A Bonfire As They Wait For Presidential Results At Kamukunji Grounds

Today on Wednesday August 11 Wafula Chebukati who is the head of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)has announced the first set of official results from the presidential election.

As he was speaking at the bomas of Kenya Chebukati has announced the results of webuye east constituency. Out of the total 30, 491 votes casted Raila Odinga of the Azimio la umoja had 44.9% of the votes casted while William Ruto of united Democratic party had 53.8% of the votes casted.

George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party received 249 votes (0.81%) and David Mwaure of the Agano Party received 110 votes (0.36 per cent).

384 cast ballots (1.25 percent) were rejected, according to Chebukati.
