We are approaching the August general elections which will be held on 9th of August this year and political temperatures are gradually rising each day. This year's general elections is seeming to be very competitive bearing in mind that the number of those aspiring for various political seats is big opposed to previous general elections.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) led by chairman Wafula Chebukati gave presidential candidates up to today 16th to have picked and named their running mates. The issue if running mate is something many Kenyans have been eagerly waiting for. Yesterday Deputy president William Ruto picked Hon Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate. 
Today, the former prime Minister and Azimio la umoja Coalition flag bearer Hon Raila Odinga has announced Martha Karua as his running mate.
Gatundu South MP Hon Moses Kuria has broken his silent after Kalonzo was not named Raila's runningmate. Kuria has said "Kalonzo to vie as an independent running mate."
