Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision Vice-Chairperson Juliana Cherera today took a bold step, resigning from being the Vice-Chairperson of IEBC. This comes after few days President William Samoei Ruto appointed tribunal to prove them. Cherera and her team had dissenting opinions on the presidential election results. This was after IEBC Chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati announced Dr. William Samoei Ruto as the President-elect.

Juliana Cherera is now the second Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision official to resign after a lot of pressure from the ruling government led by President William Samoei Ruto. The first IEBC commissioner to resign was Mr. Justus Nyang'aya who was also under probe after August 9th general presidential elections.

Other IEBC commissioners who are yet to resign include Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi. The two were part of the four IEBC officials who had different opinions on the results that were announced by Mr. Wafula Chebukati.
