Waiguru, Ngirici supporters engage in confrontation"/>Incumbet Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru is seeking to prevent her gubernatorial opponent from running for an elective office over destruction of her campaign and promotional materials.
Waiguru, who has picked her education CEC and former MCA as her suitable running mate will be submitting an official complaint to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) through her lawyers.
She has affirmed that she has evidence including the car plate number that was specifically used to deface her campaign posters.
However, she was careful not to name the opponent specifically but stated that the political candidate involved broke section 13 (L) of election offences.
''I will be today be lodging an official complaint to the IEBC through my lawyers seeking to bar my opponent from running for electoral office for defacing and destroying my campaign and promotional material , contrary to section 13 (L ) of election offences,'' read part of her official statement.
Waiguru will be facing the incumbent Kirinyaga woman rep Purity Wangui Ngirici who is running on an independent ticket.
Other worthy opponents for her in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race include Charles Kibiru of Jubilee party and former governor Peter Nduathi.
