Azimio candidate for Nairobi Governor Apologises over Remarks that He made over Somali community

Azimio one Kenya alliance candidate for Nairobi governor, Polycarp Igathe has apologized for the statement which it angers Somali community in Kenya. He claimed that his statement was misinterpreted because he was not meaning to affect Somali People. He claimed that his comments, which had only been made in the context of "seeking a more equitable platform for all Nairobians to enjoy services and opportunities," had been misinterpreted. Igathe had claimed that some Nairobi county representatives are under the control of some cartels led by three Somali men. He said that 45 MCA are controlled by three Somali, and they are doing illegal activities in the county.

According to citizens News, Polycarp Igathe as responded by assuring the Somali community that his words in the coming days will respect their dignity and urges that he has deep respect for them. He asked Somali to forgive him if they were affected by his comments.“I would like to say that if the broader Somali community or anyone was hurt or inadvertently offended by comments made in the context of engagements on the campaign trail, I am sorry for any such offence or hurt,” Igathe asked them. Aden Duale who is closed Allie to William Ruto were among the leaders who discourage the statement of Polycarp Igathe.
