Approaching the 2022, general elections, a number of governors in Kenya will be serving their second and last term in office. To keep their political journey alive, many governors across the country have shown their interest in other political positions after their last term. The list below is of the governors who have made clear their intentions to vie for other political positions after their last gubernatorial term. These governors will either be going for their county's senate or their selected constituencies.
1.Governor Cornel Rasanga
The Siaya governor will be completing his second and last term come August this year. In September, Rasanga declared interest in Alego Usonga Parliamentary list. He will therefore be one of the five governors who have indicated their intention to stay in politics after their last gubernatorial term.

2.Governor Sospeter Ojaamong
Ojamong will also be completing his last term as Busia governor after the August 2022 general elections. Last year, Ojaamong showed interest in continuing his political journey by going for Teso South Parliamentary seat. The governor is however yet to make the final decisions. Allegations have it that the governor may reconsider his decision

3.Governor Kivutha Kibwana
Kivutha Kibwana is still ranked the best performing governor in Kenya. The Makueni governor recently dclared his interest in Makueni Senatorial seat after his second and last term as the county chief.

4.Governor Jackson Mandago
Previously, Mandago had shown interest in vying for Moiben Parliamentary seat. However, the governor reconsidered his decision and will now be going for the Uasin Gishu senatorial seat come August 2022. Mandago has been the Uasin Gishu county chief for the maximum two terms.

5.Governor Martin Wambora
Embu Governor, Martin Wambora is also another county chief that would be eyeing a different political seat after his last term in office of the governor. Wambora will be going for the Embu Senatorial seat in August. Wambora is currently the chairman of Kenya Council of Governors
