The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will conduct by-elections for Members of County Assembly Ward (CAW) for Eldas Ward in Wajir County, Kiagu Ward in Meru County and Nguu/Masumba Ward in Makueni County. The by-elections will be held on 14th October, 2021.
This is according to the gazette notice by the authority, this opens battlegrounds for Jubilee and young United Democratic Alliance party, should the two parties decide to field candidates, they will likely face off, the major battle ground will be the Eldas seat and that of Kiagu which were occupied by jubilee party members.
This comes after a heated by-elections in Muguga ward and Kiambaa where the two parties faced off, Jubilee won the Muguga seat and lost the Kiambaa one to Ruto's outfit United Democratic Alliance party.
Eldas is the home constituency of the secretary of Jubilee Parliamentary group Hon. Adam Keynan who is the current member of parliament, a loss for Jubilee will be an embarrassment.
